Getting Started
- The terms and conditions contained in the People Telecoms Standard Form of Agreement (SFOA) applies to your use of the People Telecom Wireless2Go Service.
- You must comply with the SFOA and People Telecoms Acceptable Use Policy when using the service. When applying to use the service you agree that you have met the minimum system requirements below. A full copy of the SFOA can be obtained by contacting us or by www.peopletelecom.com.au.
- To the extent permitted by law we do not make any representation or warranty regarding the performance of any software provided to you in connection with the service and you agree that you will make no claim against us in respect of the software, its performance or your right to use it.
- People Telecom Wireless2Go data plans are only available for use on People Telecom provided USB modems.
Requirements
Software Requirements:
- You must have a compatible operating system to connect to the service. Subject to your rights under the Trade Practices Act, People Telecom does not make any warranty regarding the software of data provided to you as it operates on your computer and interacts with your other applications.

USB Modem Requirements:
- PC or laptop with a spare USB port.
- People Telecom approved USB modem to connect to the network.
- A USIM card with a data subscription (if using GSM, 2G/GPRS or 3G/HSDPA).

- You must be logged in with Administrator Privileges when you install People Telecom Wireless2Go or install any new device
Operating System Support:
- Microsoft Windows Vista (USB Modem only)
- Microsoft Windows XP Professional (SP1, SP2)
- Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (SP1, SP2)
- Microsoft Windows 2000 (SP3, SP4)
The PC must also have:
- Remote Access Services components with TCP/IP protocol enabled
- Multi-browser support e.g. Microsoft Internet Explorer (version 5.5 or above), Mozilla Firefox
- Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.5 or above.
***Macintosh OS e.g. OS 9.0, OS X are not currently compatible with the W2GO product***
Coverage
- If the modem is conducting a handover between networks, you may experience short periods of time (eg 15 to 45 seconds) in which data will not transfer. Actual data speed can vary depending on your computer's configuration and capacity, the capability and load of the sites visited, which bearer you are currently using (GSM, 3G, HSDPA), the variable nature of the Internet and the amount of simultaneous usage on the People Telecom or Optus network. - To the extent permitted by law we do not make any representation or warranty regarding the performance, service or coverage of the Optus (GSM, GPRS or 3G/HSDPA network) and you agree that you will make no claim against us in respect of the performance, service or coverage of the Optus network.
- Usage charges will apply when People Telecom Wireless2Go is transferring data over the Optus GSM, 3G, HSDPA networks, or when 'MIP-enabled' is selected on the PC application (MIP-enabled allows for seamless roaming between different bearers).
- When overseas, International Data Roaming usage charges apply as extra. Some data cards are incompatible with networks in some countries. Please refer to the list of countries People Telecom supports.
Pricing
- All prices quoted are GST inclusive, unless otherwise stated.
- People Telecom Wireless2Go plans are available as 24 month plans only. The minimum total cost over 24 months is as follows: $696.00 for the Wireless2go 200MB plan, $936.00 for the Wireless2go 500MB plan, $1,416.00 for the Wireless2go 1GB plan, $1,896.00 for the 2GB plan , plus the cost of your USB Modem ($299 for the Wireless2go 200MB and 500MB plans).
- Data usage will be calculated as a combined total of uploads and downloads measured in Kilobytes (KB). For all purposes 1Megabyte (MB) = 1,024 Kilobytes (KB). The People Telecom Wireless2go application shows approximate megabytes only. Actual megabyte usage will depend on a number of factors including which network is currently being used. If you exceed your data plan monthly included usage allowance in any billing period, an excess usage rate of $0.15 per MB will apply. Unused data allowance in any month cannot be rolled into subsequent months. You are not able to view your monthly usage prior to receiving your bill. People Telecom Wireless2go plans may only be used as a data plan. This offer excludes services including Optus Zoo, Voice calls, International voice calls, VoiceMail, SMS, International SMS, premium and Third Party SMS, MMS, International MMS, 1300, 1900 and other services are barred from this service.
- If you choose to change plans within your 24 month agreement period, you will be allowed one change free to a higher usage plan. If you choose to move to a lower usage plan, you will be charged a $30 administration fee plus the full cost of the USB modem (if you received a free modem).
- Usage charges will apply when People Wireless2Go is transferring data over the Optus GSM, 3G, HSDPA networks, or other roaming partners as advised by People Telecom from time to time. 6. When overseas, International Data Roaming usage charges apply as extra (for charges refer to www.optus.com.au/international under 'GPRS roaming' section). Some modems are incompatible with networks in some countries. Please refer to the list of countries People Telecom supports on www.optus.com.au/international.
Cancellation
- If you cancel this service for any reason within the 24 month Agreement period, your cancellation fee is the number of months remaining in your Agreement multiplied by the monthly access fee. If you received a free USB Modem, you will be required to pay the full price of $299.
- You may purchase a new USB by paying the cost upfront, or over 24 months - if you choose to pay the cost of your USB by the monthly payment option and the service is cancelled for any reason you will be required to pay the remaining amount owing on your USB, if any.
